Brooklyn’s music scene is as fast-paced as it is hardworking. To celebrate their success, Taste Talks invited a handful of these individuals to dine with us at Mediterranean eatery Isa in Williamsburg. With five courses served with a wine pairing from the Somontano region of Spain, the meal was a tasty success.

Over long dining tables, writers from Stereogum, publicists from Motormouth, label reps from PIAS and Grand Jury, MS MR and a slew of other local talent kicked off dinner with fried brussels sprouts paired with La Miranda de Secastilla’s Garnacha Blanca. The Garnacha Blanca, harvested by the Viñas del Vero winery in the Secastilla Valley, is an intensely aromatic wine with notes of nut—the perfect partner to the brussels sprouts.

Following the starters were mini sausage pizzas, partnered with Enate Rosado, a rosé made from Cabernet Sauvignon that’s dry and fruity, yet easy to drink.

Following pizza was house-made gnocchi, paired with Pirineos Selección Garnacha 2013. The Seleccion Garnacha packs a powerful flavor of oak and fruit, perfect for the heavy gnocchi. With all the wine flowing, a heavy dish was needed—come in lamb burger! Paired with Sommos’ Glárima Varietales Tinto 2012, the spicy yet fruity red is ideal for meats.

A perfect end to a full evening was a light dessert of chocolate budino, washed down with a Batán de Salas Chardonnay. With a hint of smooth vanilla, this wine is the ideal end to a pairing meal.

With full bellies and rosy cheeks, our guests departed, off to continue their continued excellence in all things music. A big thank you to Somontano Wines for providing a variety of flavorful and complex wines to compliment the perfect meal.
