Roxana Velazco is a true crossover talent—raised in Mexico part-time, her bilingual blog Blk Bones highlighted all things stylish on both sides of the border. She’s now blogging at Hello It’s Roxie , but she continues to be one of our must-follow Instagram accounts for all things beautiful and delicious (after all, the woman has great taste in Peruvian food).

Name: Roxana Velazco

Age: 28

Day job: I’m a fit model, which means I try on clothes and make notes of the fit, as well as shoot with wholesale and retail online stores as well as lifestyle advertisements.

What you’d do if you weren’t doing your day job: If I wasn’t doing my day job, I would probably be traveling around the world.

One food or drink you couldn’t live without: That’s a tough one, but if I have to choose one it would have to be lomo saltado. It’s one of my favorite Peruvian dishes. One drink would probably be water. Boriiing, I know!

What do you have great taste in? I think I have great taste in shoes.

What do you have bad taste in? I’m told i have bad taste in TV shows. Seinfeld is one of my favorites!

Who, to you, is an influential tastemaker? Julie from Sincerely Jules .

How do you refine your sense of taste? I follow a few blog and Tumblrs that are super inspiring to me. One of my favorites is A Well Traveled Woman .

What is the best-tasting thing you’ve ever eaten? Wow; I can’t choose only one. Some of my ultimate favorites are lomo saltado, chicken tikka masala, my mom’s pozole, menudo from a little whole in the wall in the city of Maywood, and the pisco sours my boyfriend makes.

What does taste mean to you? It’s just all about what people like—food, music, and clothing all define taste. And of course, the amazing flavor that something creates when you eat it or drink it!

Roxana let us in on an eating-drinking-hosting playlist inspired by her two hometowns of Mexico and L.A. Listen now:
